Gypsy swing in the land of Grands Crus

Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, and its UNESCO-listed vineyards offer a setting few regions can match: wine estates, vaulted cellars, cobbled courtyards and manor houses along the Route des Grands Crus. Weddings are held here, but so are many corporate receptions and tasting evenings, where music should accompany without ever drowning out conversation.

A vaulted cellar is not a room like any other. Stone carries the sound, a duo finds its place there without straining, and the setting does the rest. An estate garden asks for the opposite: a fuller setup and a power supply nearby. In every case we bring our own sound system and set up discreetly, without tying up your staff.

We adapt the line-up to the moment rather than the other way round: a duo for a cocktail hour among the vines, the full band for the evening. Based in Saône-et-Loire, right next to the Côte-d'Or, we travel throughout France and Europe.

The Jazz à Beaune et Grands Vins de Bourgogne festival

We have played on the stage of the Jazz à Beaune et Grands Vins de Bourgogne festival.

A jazz festival is not a cocktail hour: the audience came for the music, they listen, and often they know it well. The repertoire can go further — Django Reinhardt's themes in their long form, the choruses, the improvisation. This is the format we offer festivals, venues and programmers, with a technical rider available in the Pro area.

Playing in Beaune, in practice

Do you play in wine estates and cellars?

Yes, regularly. Vaulted cellars, wineries, estate courtyards and reception rooms around Beaune: these are venues we know well, and their acoustics suit gypsy jazz particularly well.

Can you play outdoors, in a garden or a courtyard?

Yes. Outdoors we use amplification, which means a power supply near the performance area. We bring all the equipment: you have nothing to hire.

Do you perform on stages and at festivals?

Yes. We have played at the Jazz à Beaune et Grands Vins de Bourgogne festival. Our technical rider can be downloaded from the Pro area on the home page.

Can you play during a meal or a tasting?

Yes, and it is a format we enjoy: gypsy jazz lends itself well to background listening. We play in a smaller line-up and at a moderate volume, so the music accompanies the service and the conversation without forcing anyone to raise their voice.
